On the occasion of the first annual visit of the delegation of European Ambassadors to Ho Chi Minh city, the EU-Vietnam Business Network (EVBN) hosted an event to present its ambitious plan of gathering 150 new European premium lifestyle-related brands to Vietnam in May 2018 through its flagship annual event – EuroSphere exhibition. The EU – Vietnam Business Network (EVBN) is a project co-funded by the European Union. The aim of the project is to strengthen the activities of the European business sector in Vietnam, especially European small and medium sized companies (SMEs) seeking cooperation opportunities in Vietnam.
The event welcomed the presence of H.E. Ambassador Bruno Angelet, Head of Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, and 19 European national Ambassadors (or Charges d’Affaires) from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. In light of the soon to be implemented EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement, European Ambassadors confirmed the benefits for both European companies to expand and Vietnamese partners and consumers to be granted with more choice in terms of good quality products within lifestyle-related sectors, under the premise of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EU-VN FTA).
Mr. Pierre-Jean Malgouyres, EVBN’s chairman shared: “With increasing disposable income, Vietnamese consumers love European high quality and exquisite design products. While Ho Chi Minh city is Vietnam’s business hub, the upcoming free trade agreement is expected to make business even easier. Vietnam therefore represents the next logical market where to introduce European brands. The exhibition [EuroSphere] will bring a new type of experience to visitors while European companies will be able to meet with potential new local and regional distributors and clients.”
10 interior designers from France, Italy, Spain, Denmark and Germany attended the event to express their views on the opportunities for their respective activities on the market. Some also shared their positive experience as participants of the 2017 EuroSphere edition, by explaining how the event had benefitted their brands.
The presentation took place in the newly opened Roche Bobois store in Vietnam, a high-end French design furniture company distributed by Hoang Nam Group, with the participation of 10 European designers, EVBN’s main partners: Vietnam International Fashion Week, French Council of Commerce, Italian Chamber of Commerce, European Chamber of Commerce and numerous media partners.
The very first edition of EuroSphere exhibition was held in June 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City and presented 80 European brands to 2,500 international visitors. After such great success, the 2018 EuroSphere edition is now looking for a larger visibility with a two-fold increase: the event will last 3 days on the 18th, 19th and 20th May 2018, at the White Palace Convention Centre, in Ho Chi Minh city. EuroSphere expects to gather 150 European brands to more than 4,500 international visitors coming mainly from Vietnam and South-East Asian countries.
